What Are Laminating Machines?
Lamination is a process that can help to protect your valuables, and nowadays you can also laminate the flooring of your house. Laminate flooring provides a realistic and new look to your flooring and additionally it comes at an unbelievable economical price. Laminating machines, which is also known as laminators, are beneficial in this regard as they help to give you an option to have multiple colors and patterns in the flooring.
To get the look of a wood flooring, you do not have to go for the expensive wood flooring. You can choose from the various types of laminate floorings.
Laminating machines come in two variants and these are Pouch laminators and Roll laminators. The roll laminators are of two basic types: cold laminators and hot laminators. Advancements in technology have improved the features of these laminating machines remarkably. The latest versions of laminators far surpass the qualities of the earlier versions of the same product. These machines still require some kind of input from the end user but most of the controls of the laminators are processed through the microprocessor. This microprocessor works as the main control center for the entire machine.
Pouch laminating machines are the one that work with the use of a pouch that is known as a lamination pouch. It is sealed from one side. The inside part of this lamination pouch is layered with a film that is specially designed to be activated by heat. This film adheres to the product that is supposed to be laminated as the product goes inside the laminators. The substrate side of the machine board consists of an adhesive that is again activated by heat. This adhesive helps to bond the print to the substrate. The pouch that contains the print, substrate and laminate is then made to pass through a number of heated rollers and that too under pressure. This process ensures that all the adhesive layers get bonded to each other.
The roll laminators work in different temperatures. The hot laminating machines are the most popular ones in the market today. They use a temperature of around 220-300 degrees Fahrenheit to complete the process of lamination. The Hot laminators are preferred due to their better quality. The lamination which is produced by these machines is more resistant to wear and tear.
On the other hand, cold laminators work by makeing use of pressure sensitive adhesives to bind the lamination film. When the product is sensitive to heat then it is best stlaminated with the use of these cold laminating machines.
As you can see, there are various types of laminating machines that can be used for the purpose of lamination. The only thing you need to consider is the type of product and the quality of the specific laminating machines. Once you decide how to laminate your product you can get a perfect result by the use of most of the laminating machines available in the market.
